Where
the songs get even lighter, tighter and more focused…and
weirder, actually. Where their jangling indie-pop idealism shines
and becomes the perfect vehicle for their very personal, and
often very political, lyrical endeavors. Inventive, expressive… and
now it’s Burt Bacharach
meets The Smiths, still fending off the riffarama, and managing
to keep it at bay for once. When I say they're like The Smiths
(and you won't see me dropping that name very often,
for obvious reasons), there’s a reason behind it, but to
each his/her own; we’ll see if
you agree. Vocalist Mattias Atkberg is a big blond Morrissey
in many ways, and is one of the finest pop crooners I've ever
heard. Likewise, gifted guitarist Jari Haapalainen is very much
Johnny Marr to Mattias' Morrissey, and one of the
most expressive and unconventional guitarists you'll ever hear.
