Absinthe
Blind - The
Everyday Separation
The Everyday Separation is
album #4 from Champaign-Urbanas Absinthe Blind, and their
first for Parasols Mud Records imprint. Last years Music
For Security (Hammerhead Records) propelled the band even
closer to the brass rocknroll ring, with songs
featured in MTVs Road Rules/Extreme Challenge, mp3 downloads
through Abercrombie & Fitchs website, and an appearance
In New York City at the CMJ Music Marathon, the largest gathering
of College Radio programmers and fans in the United States.

Heres
what some national publications had to say about Music For
Security:
Spin.com (June
2000) - the ghosts of Eddie Vedder, Dave Matthews, Morrissey
..., and U2
are laid out flat on their collective back in AB's "Standing
with Knives."
CMJ (August
2000) - "
hauntingly
beautiful sonic landscapes
Adam's Eddie Vedder sounding
pipes weave nicely around Erin's soaring voice
Music
for Security holds the promise that Absinthe Blind can
move into the national spotlight" "Standing with
Knives shows a strong influence from U2 circa The Unforgettable
Fire
"
Faster Than Sheep (September
2000) - "an album that is both a work of majesty and humility,
not an easy feat...embraces everything in recent pop history
from the synthiness of Tears for Fears or INXS to the collegiate
funkiness of Afghan Whigs or U2 to the grandiosity of Radiohead
or Built to Spill.."
PopMatters.com (July
2000) - "engaging...the band creates confident, grandiose
music that seems destined for a larger audience.
